Caucasus priest warns of conflict after Russian school massacre
Warsaw (ENI). A Polish Roman Catholic priest who ministered to
survivors of the school massacre in southern Russia has urged
religious leaders to calm demands for revenge. "In their pain and
anger, people have turned on both sides, accusing the authorities
of corruption and asking how this could possibly have happened,"
said the Rev. Janusz Blaut, a priest based at the nearby North
Ossetian capital, Vladykavkaz. "The church's task will be to calm
emotions and discourage people from answering evil with evil."
