How to become a Catholic

The approach a Catholic would recommend is: receive the Catholic faith through the RCIA class, get baptised for forgiveness of sins, receive the Eucharist regularly (with prayer and worship) to receive strength for Christian life and to combat sins; confess your sins to a priest and receive absolution when you commit a grave sin.  In all things, trust in God and Jesus through the Holy Spirit, and ask Blessed Mary for her intercession.

Christian life is perpetually a struggle against sins and temptations - until God calls us home.  The sacraments (Baptism, Eucharist, Confession, etc.) of the Church are the channel of grace to help you in your struggle.

Hi

Refering to

You do not have to wait until you can forgive or forget your sins -
in fact, you should not wait for that, and you do not even have to
think about forgiving and forgetting your own sins.

This is a tricky part. This may only apply to me due to my character.
I believe things have to start with me first.
If I don't forgive myself, I do not except GOD to forgive me.(Even
if God has forgiven me)
If I do not forget my sins, I will only repeat and hold on to my
sins, pain and suffering. (If I hold on, I can never start my new
life with God)

The thing is I need to start being a better person NOW. Then I can
be a new creation under God's eye.
